A New Book About Erdek Is Being Prepared By Our Research Center

One of the main concerns of our center is publishing new studies about Bandırma and its neighbouring towns. In this regard, our center is trying to establish a "City Archive" mainly acquiring documents from the Ottoman Archives and also from many other societies and institutions. For now continuing studies yield a sum of 20.000 original documents about Bandırma and its surroundings. Before our center was founded some of this documents has been displayed in exibitions in Bandırma, with foundation of our center we hope to continue these efforts. To this end, Assoc. Dr. Kurtuluş DEMİRKOL, Asst. Dr. Cengiz ŞEKER and Asst. Dr. Engin ÇAĞMAN is preaping a new book named " Erdek in Ottoman Documents". With the editorship of our director Prof. Dr. Zekai Mete this book will be an example of the richness of the archives.
